Kitchen Remodel Begins.

I suppose I'm committed now.  I was hesitant at first.  But ripping off tiles and destroying sheet rock has a way of getting things rolling.  No turning back now.  No second guessing. 

First up, counter tops and cabinet painting.  This alone could take weeks, but let's give it a go. 

It would help, of course, if I had a clue of what I was doing.  Nevertheless, I press on into the unknown.  With the help of Google, YouTube and a few knowledgeable friends, I have hope that somehow the results will be positive.

It was a terrific surprise evening of food, fun and fellowship.  Thank you to my lovely bride, who pulled it all off without so much as a suspicion on my part.

A Grand Evening For Grandma.

What a great celebration we had for Grandma's 80th birthday.  Great food and laughter filled the evening.  The highlight was the gathering of all of the grandchildren to pay tribute to grandma.  This special time included playing music, reciting poetry or some other bit of entertainment.  Grandma has been a blessing to our families for many, many years and her children (and grandchildren) wanted to show their love and appreciation.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!  WE LOVE YOU!

Thankful.

We again enjoyed our pre-Thanksgiving tradition of sitting down to dinner the night before and going around the table recounting the many blessings we have enjoyed over the past year.  Among the standouts were: Dad's new job, anonymously paid-for car repairs, good health, enjoying various activities, difficulties endured, growth in each of our children, faithful friends. We are especially thankful for friends in Minnesota, North Carolina and South Carolina.  We think of you often.

Ellie Turns Three!

Port Aransas.

We took a brief weekend trip down to Port Aransas.  The weather was terrific, as we continued in a cooling period for several days.  The waves were great, the breeze was refreshing and the time away was revitalizing.
